Come to the library for a relaxing hour of coloring and visiting this Tuesday January 28 at 1:05. We provide bookmarks and greeting cards for all occasions for you to color. We also provide colored pencils and markers, or bring your own! There is no cost or sign up required.

Tumblebooks – FREE kids ebooks online:
Tumblebooks is an online collection of e-books for children. It can be accessed from any device with internet, so they can read on a computer, tablet or phone. This is a great resource to use anytime your kids say “I’m bored!”, or as an additional way to get them reading more books!
Kids can read along with over 1,100 animated, talking picture books, as well as chapter books, non-fiction books, and graphic novels, and play games and put together puzzles. And it’s all FREE for our library patrons! Just go to our website (link below), click on the Tumblebooks box on the homepage, and put in your library card number. Or download the free Tumblebooks app.

Our 2025 Reading Challenge focuses on books about Iowa or Iowans! During 2025, read one book from each category that is:
· by an Iowa author (born and/or resided in) or
· set in Iowa or
· connected to Iowa or Iowans.
Stop in the library to pick up a log sheet, and one of our librarians will be happy to help you with suggestions for book ideas!
There is no set time frame to follow when completing this challenge. You have the entire year to complete at least one book from each category. Expand your literary experience, and try something new!

UNI DEMENTIA SIMULATION HOUSE:
UNI has created an innovative hands-on learning experience for the community in the Dementia Simulation House, a home where individuals use goggles, headphones and gloves to experience what it’s like to live with dementia.
It focuses on educating individuals about Alzheimer's and other dementias, increasing empathy for those living with dementia, and empowering care partners.
Please join us Wednesday, February 12 at 2:00 pm to learn more

Stay Sharp Memory Kits available for checkout:
The Library has 3 Stay Sharp Memory Kits available for check out. The kits help support those experiencing Alzheimer’s, dementia, memory loss, and other cognitive impairment, or those just wishing to keep their minds sharp.
Each kit is intended to help you interact, converse, or reminisce with others, including those with cognitive decline. The kits include items that stimulate memory and help spark conversations about life experiences, such as books, photos, sensory tools, puzzles and games.
We have 3 kits available: Garden, Handyman, and Birds & Butterflies

Get Active at the Library!
Our Fit & Feisty exercise group meets every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 1:00. We offer a variety of exercises, and you can participate from either a sitting or standing position, so it’s appropriate for all fitness levels.
We also offer Chair Yoga on Tuesdays &Thursdays at 2:15. This is a very basic yoga class that focuses on relaxation, stretching, balance, and breathing. All exercises are done from either from a seated position, using the chair, or beside your chair.
There is no cost for either of these programs. Give one of them a try!
